ADA BRICEÑO:
abuse of power
for personal gain.

❌ Found guilty of workplace discrimination
❌ Hiked union dues, then boosted her own salary
❌ Threatened to cut off workers' health insurance during COVID
❌ Nepotism and corruption
❌ Soft on crime
❌ Wants to make life more expensive with billions in new taxes

briceÑo profited from
abusing her power.

When 90% of her union members were laid off during the pandemic, Ada Briceño raised dues, then threatened to cut health insurance if members stopped paying. On top of it all, she gave herself a raise.

Since becoming co-president, membership dues have risen 44%. Her own salary? Up 65%.

And when membership fell by 9,500 in 2024, she responded by giving herself yet another raise.

With a track record like that, it’s no surprise that 25 unions endorsed the other Democrat in the race.

GUILTY OF DISCRIMINATION.

When Briceño was president of UNITE HERE Local 681, a jury found the union guilty of discrimination and illegal firing.

Workers said she called employees “gringos,” mocked people with medical conditions, and excluded staff from meetings.

She even said she wanted to “get rid of the old ladies” – including a plaintiff who had worked for the union for 34 years.

A jury awarded damages to the tune of nearly $1 million. Every dollar was upheld on appeal.

FUNNELING UNION DOLLARS TO HER OWN FAMILY.

Briceño used union money to benefit her own family - and there’s proof.

Her union sent nearly $37,000 to an organization run by her husband, and another $5,000 to a group led by her stepdaughter. Earlier in her career, the union paid her then-husband hundreds of thousands as an organizer.

And it didn’t stop with her family. Under her charge, a co-president’s husband was paid more than $800,000, and another’s daughter took in over $300,000 as a union employee.

That’s millions flowing to insiders while workers made as little as $20 an hour.

THE DEFINITION OF “TOXIC BOSS”

In 2004, half of UNITE HERE Local 681's members walked out – accusing Briceño of denying them access to financial records and providing "absolutely no decent representation."

Her response? She dismissed the opposition as "mostly all the white folks were against me."

In 2019, when Ada served as board chair to the Orange County Community Organized for Responsible Development (OCCORD), nearly half its staff resigned over a toxic work environment and poor working conditions.

Briceño's response: deny it ever happened.

Even worse: She supported allowing unionized hotels to pay workers less than minimum wage to make the union a “low-cost” option for businesses. Members called it a betrayal.

This isn’t a one-off situation - it’s a pattern.

SUPPORTS CRIME OVER SAFETY.

While voters demanded safer neighborhoods and overwhelmingly voted yes on the public safety initiative (Prop 36), Briceño signed a memo to reduce police department staffing.

She chose to actively put our neighborhoods in danger.

She backed soft-on-crime LA District Attorney George Gascón and endorsed LA City Councilmember Hugo Soto-Martinez, a self-declared "Police Abolitionist.”

Voters pleaded for safe neighborhoods. Ada Briceño said no.

SHE WANTS TO MAKE YOUR LIFE MORE EXPENSIVE.

It’s already expensive enough to live in California, but Briceño wants to make it even more expensive and nearly impossible to own a home.

She backed a property tax increase that would raise costs for California families by billions and weaken key protections for seniors and fixed-income families.

Her union has spent millions on politics and lobbying – pushing higher hotel taxes and rules that could make those rare family vacations even more expensive.

WE DESERVE BETTER than ada BRICEÑO.

If Ada Briceño goes to Sacramento, she won't represent you.
She'll represent her own self-interests, while making our
state more expensive and more dangerous.
